A Few Words About "MegaChance"
It is a competition for foreign applicants of AlmaU, which has been held annually since 2014. The competition is focused on graduates of colleges, schools and universities and provides an opportunity to win a 50% discount or a 100% grant for studies in undergraduate and graduate programs.

Stages of the competition
May 1, 2020 - May 15, 2020
- Passport
- Certificate (average score) (if you haven’t received a certificate yet, send your grade sheet or academic transcript)
- International language certificates IELTS, TOEFL (if available)
- Letter(s) of recommendation
- Certificates for the last 3 years (major achievements in various fields: studies, sports, creativity, social life, etc.)
- Video card (video presentation of yourself)
Make a video (no longer than 60 sec, horizontal shooting), describing yourself briefly and telling about your strong personal sides, or about educational achievements, or about your future aims etc. Add a video to your Portfolio and also post it to your Instagram page, tag @almau_edu with a hashtag #megachance2020.
* Note: The language of the recommendation letter and video card must match the language department you have chosen.
** Your Instagram page must be open till the end of the Competition.

Essay is written by those participants, who will pass the 1st Stage.
You can choose one of the topics below, according to your chosen language and language of the 1st Stage “Portfolio”.

Essay writing Requirements:
- An essay can only be written on one of the proposed topics.
- It is necessary to write in the language in which study is planned in the future (English-English, Russian-Russian, Kazakh-Kazakh).
- Recommended size - at least 250 words, maximum - 1000 words.
- Rules for the essay:
Font: Times New Roman, size 14, spacing 1.
Margins: top - 2 cm, bottom - 2 cm, right - 1.5 cm, left - 3 cm.
In the upper right corner of the first page you must indicate the name of the participant.
Note:
- The text should be logical and coherent.
- Avoid overly complex phrases and an abundance of professional terminology.
- Do not get carried away with descriptions, but do not neglect the details.
- The text should reflect the specifics of your opinion on the chosen specialty.
- Do not be afraid to demonstrate non-standard thinking, but try to confirm your point of view with arguments.
Essay Evaluation Criteria:
- Essay Structure
- Argumentation of own opinion on the topic
- Originality of thought
- Speech design, semantic integrity, speech connectivity and sequence of presentation
- Literacy, spelling and speech standards
Works are accepted until 23:00 of May 31, 2020 (Nur-Sultan city time).

The interview will be conducted in the language you have chosen for the course of study (selected language department)
